HEINRICH XIII AND THE DEVILGRASS PICKERS ain't like the country music you know. Except you are one of those, that still know the good old or even new stuff far away from today's big radio- and TV stations.
We are one of the few german country bands who write their own songs and play some kind of "classic" or "vintage" country music paired with bluegrass elements.
So if you're looking for acoustic guitar, upright bass, banjo, mandolin, dobro, electric guitar, steel guitar, fiddle and drums in spirited combinations, that's exactly what you'll get.

The foundation of the music is very plain:
me and my guitar, playing straight from the heart. Singing about the good and bad things in life or just telling some (hopefully) entertaining stories.
But when all the DEVILGRASS PICKERS come together, we can't fight back all our other music influences entirely. Of course you can hear a lot of decent country songs, but we also love to play some loud as $%§& and fast as &!§%. So if you like to dance, scream, spill beer or just loose some weight on a show, you should definitely show up on one of ours!

Because they did'n let us to the Muddy Roots Festival in the USA, the Muddy Roots Festival comes to Europe. With a line-up that doesn't have to hide behind his american mother. On saturday 9th and sunday 10th of june 2012 a new chapter in european music history will be written in Waardamme/Belgium, while you're going cozy blind from the enjoyment of slefmade booze... and who want's to miss that?!?

The U.S. did't let J.B. Beverley leave the country. That means his whole european tour is canceled and that our Rebel meets Bembel show on oktober 21 in Södel also can't take place. Public enemy #1: the musician

I don't know, what's wrong with us, but somehow we just can't make it into the US. This time we even got banned for lifetime and we can only come back with special visas. Fingerprints were taken very, very accurate and the gangster photos we're shot and we almost had to spent the night in prison.
At least we made it to american ground this year. Maybe we'll see something outside the Airport next year...

So: all 2011 USA shows are cancelled.

Our song "Fuck Y**" was nominated for Donnie Fucking Cash and his White Trash Revival Podcast's Real Country Music Awards in the category "best song to get fucked up to".
We did not win, but it's not a shame to loose against the best. The winner is Hank Williams III with "Country Heroes".

Hey folks!

The show with Bob Wayne and the Outlaw Carnies on Sunday the 30th of August in Wölfersheim/Germany was awesome!!!
We also recorded songs with Bob's fiddler Brian "Buck" Ellard for our coming debut CD. He did a fantastic job on our tunes...
Bob sang with me the vocals for a new version of "FUCK Y**" and his bassist Dan Infecto played a great bass lline to it. We'll put the new version up here soon!
